CLARKSVILLE, TENNESSEE — A Tennessee livestreamer known for posting racist confrontation videos online is facing an attempted murder charge after authorities said a dispute outside a courthouse escalated into gunfire. The case adds to other violent Tennessee incidents involving sudden confrontations, including one where a Tennessee woman lost her leg after being attacked by her own pit bull.
Dalton Eatherly, 28, known online as “Chud the Builder,” was taken into custody after the shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville on Wednesday.

Officials said Eatherly and another man were both injured by gunfire and taken to hospitals in stable condition.
Courthouse Confrontation Turns Into Shooting
According to authorities, the shooting happened after a confrontation between Eatherly and another man outside the courthouse.
The exact sequence of events remains under investigation. Officials have not publicly identified the other man involved.

Witnesses and reports described Eatherly as a livestreamer known locally for recording public confrontations and using racist language toward Black people. Authorities said the incident escalated into gunfire, leaving both men wounded.
Charges Filed
Eatherly was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
District Attorney General Robert Nash’s office said Eatherly was expected to appear for an arraignment and bond hearing.
Livestream After the Incident
After the shooting, Eatherly reportedly livestreamed himself speaking to first responders and claimed he had acted in self-defense.

In the video, he described a confrontation with the other man and said he had been struck before firing. Officials have not confirmed his version of events, and the case remains under investigation.
Authorities said the other man was transported for medical treatment and was listed in stable condition.
Prior Restaurant Arrest
The courthouse shooting happened days after Eatherly was arrested in Nashville following a restaurant incident.
According to court records cited in reports, Eatherly allegedly refused to pay a $371.55 bill after being asked to stop livestreaming inside a restaurant. Staff said he became disruptive, made racial statements, and caused a scene before police were called.
He was previously charged in that case with theft of services, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
Investigation Ongoing
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said this kind of violence would not be tolerated and that investigators would work to hold those responsible accountable.
Authorities have not released full details about what led to the confrontation or how many firearms were involved.
