PARKS TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA — Barry Christian, a 54-year-old Republican candidate for the Oklahoma state Senate, was found dead on Thursday after a two-day search. His body was discovered inside a vehicle in a remote part of western Oklahoma. The discovery has left his family and campaign supporters in shock.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) confirmed that Christian's truck was located just off Highway 30.
The Disappearance and Discovery
Authorities found the candidate's charcoal gray 2024 Ram truck near a ravine south of Erick. Because of the difficult location of the vehicle, officials faced delays in identifying and removing the body. A campaign sign for Christian was found nearby, tossed onto the prairie land while investigators searched the scene.
The Harmon County Sheriff's Office first reported Barry Christian missing on Tuesday when he failed to arrive at a meeting.
A Legacy of Service and Campaigning
Christian was running for District 38 and positioned himself as a strong supporter of traditional conservative values. He had recently invited residents on Facebook to join him at a local festival to discuss community issues. His daughter, Brooklyn, expressed her family's grief and asked the public to treat her father's legacy with dignity.

The Christian family stated that their world has been turned "upside down" following the news.
Ongoing Investigation
The OSBI is continuing to look into what caused the death of the state Senate candidate. No motive or cause of death has been released to the public yet. Officials are working closely with local law enforcement to piece together Christian's final moments.

Search efforts were supported by multiple local agencies and media outlets over the 48-hour period.
