Multiple women have come forward alleging they were drugged or blacked out after visiting the popular Mexican eatery Casa Carmen.

"I Completely Have No Memory"

The wave of reports began after a patron, who visited the restaurant on November 22, shared her terrifying experience. She told reporters that she ordered food and drinks with friends but lost all memory immediately after taking a sip of her second margarita.

"From starting to sip that second drink, I just completely have no memory from that point up until waking up the next morning," the woman said. She woke up disoriented and discovered a neighbor had found her stuck in her building's vestibule and helped her to bed.

Online reviews dating back two years describe similar terrifying experiences of patrons passing out after just two drinks.

A Pattern of Online Warnings

After the incident, the woman researched the venue and found alarming reviews on Yelp and Google. One review from two years ago warned, "Half of my all-women party, after only 2 margaritas, were projectile vomiting and unconscious." Another recent post on a viral Reddit thread spurred others to share similar stories of becoming violently ill and incapacitated at the venue.

Another woman who dined there in March reported ending up in the hospital with an elevated white blood cell count after just two drinks, describing herself as the "drunkest and sickest" she had ever been.

Restaurant and Police Response

The General Manager of Casa Carmen, Sebastian Ramirez Degollado, defended the establishment. He suggested that customers may have miscalculated their alcohol intake or eaten insufficient food. The restaurant released a statement saying, "We are aware of these recent allegations and cooperating fully with the guest and the police as we take all guest safety very seriously." They noted their standard cocktails contain between 2 to 3 ounces of hard liquor.

The November 22 victim also alleged that police were initially dismissive of her report. She claims a female officer asked, "You want me to write that you went out, got too drunk, and don’t remember anything?" However, an NYPD representative has since confirmed that officers are actively investigating the report.
