February 9, 2026

  • Abigail Molina, 32, has been charged with first-degree murder following the death of her boyfriend, Gilbert Parker, 64.
  • Parker was discovered unconscious inside a tool shed at Old Path Baptist Church with severe head injuries.
  • Investigators allege Molina attempted to destroy evidence after the assault and sold Parker's pickup truck for $300.

CHINA GROVE, TEXAS — Abigail Molina, 32, is accused of attacking her boyfriend with a hammer, leaving him unconscious at a church, and then trying to dispose of evidence after the assault, according to court records and an arrest affidavit.

Abigail Molina was arrested after investigators linked her to the death of 64-year-old Gilbert Parker, records show.

Victim Found At Church Property

Gilbert Parker, 64, was found on Sunday, January 18, inside a tool shed at Old Path Baptist Church in China Grove, a community east of San Antonio. Investigators say the shed had been converted into living quarters. Parker was described as unconscious, partially unclothed, and covered in what appeared to be dried blood.

Witnesses called for help, and Parker was transported to a hospital and later transferred to another facility. The affidavit states he drifted in and out of consciousness but was unable to communicate.

Police Contact And Autopsy Findings

The next day, Molina contacted officers and claimed she had “nothing to hide,” describing the incident as self-defense connected to an altercation that led to Parker’s hospitalization, the affidavit states.

Parker died on Monday, January 20. An autopsy later found head lacerations consistent with blunt-force trauma, including an injury that fractured his skull and caused bleeding in the brain, according to the court document.

Gilbert Parker died two days after he was found injured, according to case records.

Missing Property And Evidence Allegations

During the investigation, detectives learned that Parker’s cellphone, wallet, and a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup truck were missing, according to the affidavit. Investigators also alleged that church members entered the area and cleaned up blood and other items tied to Parker, including suspected drug evidence.

A person familiar with the relationship told investigators the pair had argued in the past and appeared to be “in different places in the relationship,” with Parker described as more involved and possessive, according to the affidavit.

Truck Sightings And Hammer Recovery

Investigators reported that Parker’s truck was later seen near the home of a close friend of Molina. The affidavit alleges Molina attempted to spray-paint and sand the vehicle, removed blood stains at a car wash, and later sold it for $300 in Houston.

Detectives also received tips that led them to a construction hammer found in a stormwater drainage culvert, the affidavit states. The tool was missing a claw, which investigators said was consistent with the type of skull injury documented in the autopsy findings.

Charges Filed

Molina has been charged with first-degree murder, theft, and tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair. She was booked into jail after her arrest.
