BANGKOK, THAILAND — A veteran zookeeper at Safari World in Bangkok was killed in a tragic lion attack earlier this week, and footage of the incident has surfaced online for the first time today.
The victim, identified as 58-year-old Jian Rangkharasamee, had worked at the park for more than three decades. He was fatally mauled after stepping out of his vehicle inside a free-roaming lion enclosure. Witnesses reported that one lion approached him from behind, followed by several others, before the animals overpowered him.
Tourists attempted to intervene by honking car horns and shouting, but their efforts could not stop the attack, which lasted for nearly 15 minutes.

Safari World has since closed off the area and announced an internal safety review. Officials say Rangkharasamee may have broken existing park rules that prohibit leaving vehicles in dangerous animal zones.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack. Park management has expressed condolences to the zookeeper’s family and pledged to strengthen safety measures.

Footage of the incident, recorded by visitors, surfaced online today and has quickly spread across social media, raising further questions about the park’s safety protocols.
