SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — A late-night mix-up over a food order at a Whataburger turned into a chaotic brawl involving seven people, police said, leaving the restaurant floor covered in blood and several patrons injured. Video footage of the fight just surfaced online.
From Order Error to Outburst
The fight broke out around 3 a.m. on October 5 at a Whataburger on Blanco Road. Authorities said the trouble began when an employee accidentally delivered part of one group’s order to another table. When staff reportedly told the diners to “ask the other group” for their food, tensions quickly escalated into shouting, shoving, and then a full-blown melee captured on video by witnesses.
Arrests and Injuries
San Antonio Police arrested seven people — identified as Andres Garcia Cardenas, Tyrone Tolliver, Miguel Torres, Meili Torres, Andrew Lopez, Deontae Tolliver, and Veronica Valdez — on charges of assault causing bodily injury.
Four individuals, two men and two women between 18 and 20 years old, suffered minor injuries. One person was taken to the hospital, though none of the injuries were life-threatening.
Off-Duty Employee Fired
Whataburger confirmed that one of the individuals involved was an off-duty employee. The company said that person has since been fired, emphasizing that “the safety of guests and employees remains our top priority.” The chain also pledged to cooperate fully with law enforcement.
Investigation Continues
All seven suspects were released the following day as the San Antonio Police Department continues reviewing footage and interviewing witnesses. Investigators have not yet said whether further charges or penalties are expected.
