PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA — A 21-year-old Pennsylvania man is being held without bail after he allegedly fled a traffic stop and then used his Mercedes G-Wagen to repeatedly run over a police officer in a hotel parking lot, an assault that was partially captured in a viral video.
The suspect, Dalton Lee Janiczek, is charged with the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. Two officers were injured in the violent encounter on Friday.

The Incident
The incident began around noon on Friday, October 24, when police in Whitpain Township attempted to pull Janiczek over for a traffic infraction. Authorities say Janiczek, driving a high-end G-Wagen, fled the stop by steering over a center median.
About 40 minutes later, officers in Plymouth Township located his vehicle in the parking lot of a DoubleTree Guest Suites Hotel. According to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, as an officer in a patrol car activated his lights, Janiczek threw his SUV into reverse and struck the police vehicle several times.
When the officer exited his car, Janiczek allegedly accelerated directly at him, prompting the officer to discharge his firearm.
A Vicious Assault
Janiczek struck the officer with the SUV, causing him to fall to the ground. The assault then escalated dramatically.
As the wounded officer lay on the ground attempting to administer a tourniquet to his leg, Janiczek allegedly "circled back around the lot and struck the officer three more times as he laid on the ground," the DA's office said in a statement.
The rampage only ended when Janiczek slammed into other police vehicles, injuring a second officer, and was finally taken into custody. A cell phone video of the encounter has since gone viral on TikTok and is being used as part of the investigation.

Suspect and Charges
Both injured officers were transported to a local hospital and are listed in stable condition. The first officer who was repeatedly struck sustained severe injuries, underwent emergency surgery, and is expected to face a long recovery.
Dalton Lee Janiczek, whose family home in Ambler is valued at over $1.4 million, is the son of prominent Pennsylvania lawyer Lee Janiczek. Records show the suspect graduated from La Salle College High School and was a freshman on the men's rowing team at Loyola Marymount University.
He was arraigned on Saturday and charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and other offenses. He is being held without bail pending a court appearance on November 4.
