FORT WORTH, TEXAS — A small plane crashed into a row of semi-trailers near Hicks Airfield in Fort Worth on Sunday, killing two people and setting off a massive blaze that could be seen for miles.

Crash Details and Immediate Impact

The aircraft, identified as a Beechcraft King Air C90, went down around 1:30 p.m. in the 12700 block of N. Saginaw Boulevard, striking several 18-wheelers, trailers, and a commercial building in a nearby business complex. The impact caused multiple explosions and a fire that spread to nearby grass and storage units. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the flames, bringing the situation under control in less than 40 minutes.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud boom followed by a pillar of thick black smoke rising from the crash site. Some described seeing the plane come in low and skid at high speed before colliding with the trucks.

Casualties, Response & Investigation

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, though their identities have not yet been released. It remains unclear how many individuals were aboard the aircraft at the time of the crash.

Emergency crews from multiple departments responded within minutes, shutting down nearby roads as they battled the fire and cleared debris. Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have launched investigations into what caused the aircraft to go down.
