Miami-Dade County, Florida — A chaotic scene unfolded Thursday evening inside a Publix supermarket in the Palmetto Estates area when a physical altercation escalated, leading to at least one arrest and multiple injuries.
Brawl Erupts, Shirtless Man Wields Metal Shelf
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the disturbance began around 6 p.m. near the store’s entrance in the Colonial Plaza Shopping Center on Southwest 160th Street. What started as a heated verbal dispute between two groups soon spiraled into violence.
Video footage shows two women grappling on the floor near a greeting-card display when a portion of the shelving became dislodged. A shirtless man, later identified as Climont Mann, allegedly seized the detached metal shelf and struck both women multiple times, one blow reportedly hitting a woman in the head. He then joined in on the wider melee inside the store.
In the meantime, other participants in the fight allegedly hurled plates and various merchandise across the store. Employees moved to protect registers and offices while awaiting law enforcement. As the violence spilled into the parking lot, deputies stepped in to break it up.

Arrest, Charges, and Aftermath
Mann, 20, who is reported to live about a mile from the store, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief—though the mischief count was later dropped in bond court. He is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,150 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for December 8, 2025.
The court has also issued a protective order barring Mann from contacting the alleged victims in person or online.
Reactions & Questions on Security
Two women were transported to hospitals for treatment, while several others received on-site medical attention from emergency crews. Eyewitnesses and shoppers expressed frustration that store security did not intervene sooner. One bystander described the scene as “horrible” and “a disgrace.”
At present, authorities say they have not revealed a clear motive behind the fight or what sparked the confrontation initially. All individuals involved were trespassed from the premises.
