MILAN, ITALY — A shocking crime has gripped Italy after 29-year-old model and businesswoman Pamela Genini was brutally stabbed to death on the balcony of her Milan apartment, allegedly by her ex-partner, Gianluca Soncin, 52. Authorities say Soncin attacked Genini late on October 14, using a duplicate key to enter her home before stabbing her 24 times.

HORRIFIC SCENE IN MILAN
Neighbors in the Gorla district reported hearing desperate screams moments before police arrived. Officers found Genini lifeless on her balcony and Soncin severely injured from what appeared to be a self-inflicted throat wound. He survived and is currently under guard in a hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Investigators say Genini was on the phone with a former partner during the attack, who alerted authorities after hearing the commotion. Police believe Soncin acted out of rage following the end of their relationship.

INVESTIGATION AND CHARGES
Prosecutors have charged Soncin with aggravated homicide and femicide, citing premeditation and gender-based violence. Early findings suggest Soncin had been stalking Genini and had obtained a copy of her apartment key before the attack.
Witnesses and close friends said Genini had recently told them she feared for her safety and wanted to move to a new apartment to avoid contact with her ex.
