CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA – It was a scene of chaos involving Hollywood wealth and a gruesome injury on the streets of South Florida. James Bailey, the husband of 2 Fast 2 Furious star Devon Aoki, is facing felony charges after allegedly crushing a man’s foot beneath his luxury vehicle and fleeing to the safety of his multi-million dollar mansion.

Trapped Under the Tire
The horrifying incident unfolded on Monday when Bailey, driving a white Audi SQ7, allegedly struck a scooter rider in a crosswalk. Witnesses say the victim’s foot became trapped beneath the heavy wheel of the luxury SUV.
Video footage reportedly captures the victim slapping the hood of the car in agony, while his girlfriend frantically begged the investor to move the vehicle. Instead of helping, Bailey allegedly reversed—knocking the man to the ground—before accelerating forward, running over the scooter, and speeding away without rendering aid. The victim was left with two severe foot fractures.

Hiding in the Mansion
Police tracked the Audi using license plate readers to the couple's $9.1 million estate. When officers arrived, Aoki claimed she didn't know where the car was. Moments later, Bailey pulled into the driveway.
Upon seeing the police lights, Bailey reportedly panicked. Instead of surrendering, he ran from the car and locked himself inside the massive eight-bedroom home. Officers watched as he peered through the windows for several minutes before finally emerging to be taken into custody.

An Audacious Grin
The Audi showed damage consistent with the collision, yet Bailey's attitude in the aftermath has sparked outrage. After being booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, he was released on a $7,500 bond. Footage from the bond court appeared to show him audaciously grinning as he walked free.
