CAMARILLO, CALIFORNIA — Daniel Stern, the 68-year-old actor best known for portraying the burglar "Marv" in the Home Alone franchise, was cited by law enforcement for allegedly soliciting a prostitute. The incident occurred last month at a hotel in Ventura County.
Citation Issued During Vice Operation
Stern was issued a citation on December 10 at a hotel in Camarillo. According to reports, authorities intervened when the actor allegedly attempted to hire an escort.

The actor was not taken into custody; however, he was cited for solicitation of prostitution, which is a misdemeanor offense in California. If convicted, he could face a fine of up to $1,000 or a maximum of six months in county jail.
Incident Preceded "Home Alone" Project Announcement
The legal infraction took place just days before Stern publicly announced a new artistic commission connected to his most famous film role. In an interview published on Christmas Eve, Stern revealed he had been hired to create a bronze sculpture for the homeowners of the original Home Alone house in Winnetka, Illinois.

Stern, who has largely pivoted from acting to sculpting at his ranch in Ventura, stated the piece would be a self-portrait. The sculpture is intended to memorialize the iconic scene where a tarantula is placed on his character's face.

Recent Health Issues
This legal matter follows a recent health scare for the veteran actor. In October, Stern was hospitalized in Ventura County for an undisclosed medical emergency, though his representatives later stated he was recovering well. He has not yet issued a public statement regarding the solicitation citation.
