PORTER, TEXAS – A Christmas Day celebration turned into a parent's worst nightmare when a teenage girl vanished while walking her dog. But thanks to the quick thinking of a heroic father, a potential tragedy was averted in a dramatic rescue that has been praised by authorities.

The Christmas Abduction
The terrifying ordeal began around 4:50 p.m. on Christmas Day in Porter, roughly 25 miles north of Houston. A 15-year-old girl took her dog for a walk but failed to return home. Authorities say a knife-wielding maniac threatened the teen and grabbed her right off the street, shattering the joy of the holiday.

Tracking the Signal
When the teen did not come back, her resourceful father immediately alerted police and accessed the parental controls on her cell phone. He tracked her location to a secluded and partially wooded area nearly two miles away from their home.
There, he discovered a maroon-colored pickup truck. Inside, he found his daughter and her dog, along with a partially nude man identified as 23-year-old Giovanni Rosales Espinoza.

A Daring Rescue
The father wasted no time helping his daughter escape her captor and immediately called authorities. Police arrived swiftly and arrested Espinoza, who is now facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child. He is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail.
