CITRUS COUNTY FLORIDA A woman leaving a trail of blood across the state of Florida has shocked investigators with her cold demeanor. Susan Erica Avalon is accused of embarking on a calculated mission to eliminate her past by murdering not one but two of her ex husbands in a single day.

The First Body
The violence came to light on December 17 in Manatee County. Deputies responded to a home around 3 pm after reports of gunfire. A 54 year old man lay dying from two gunshot wounds but managed to whisper a final clue to investigators. He told them the shooter was possibly his ex wife just before he died.
Inside the home the 15 year old daughter of the couple heard the gunshots after her father opened the front door. She rushed to the window and spotted a figure in a gray sweatshirt and mask fleeing the scene in a silver Honda Odyssey.

Which One
Police tracked the getaway vehicle to the home of Avalon in Citrus County the following day. They caught the 51 year old in the driveway frantically bleaching the interior of her car to destroy evidence.
When detectives approached her and stated they needed to speak about her ex husband Avalon delivered a chilling response. She simply asked Which one.

A Trail of Death
Realizing the implication of her question deputies immediately contacted police in Tampa to check on her other ex husband. The wellness check confirmed their worst fears. Inside his Hillsborough County home they found the second man dead from gunshot wounds having been killed long before the arrival of police.
Investigators believe Avalon started her day in Citrus County drove to Tampa to murder her second ex husband and then cruised to Manatee County to kill the first.

Motive for Murder
While a specific motive was not explicitly stated officials noted that Avalon owed over 4000 dollars in child support to her first ex husband whom she divorced 11 years ago. Sheriff Rick Wells stated that the attack was premeditated and that she came there specifically to kill.
Avalon now faces second degree homicide charges with first degree murder charges expected which could carry the death penalty.
