THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA — Leslie Williams, a Florida pastor who built a ministry around the sanctity of marriage, finds himself behind bars after authorities alleged his own domestic life was a bit too "sacred." Williams, a resident of the famed 55+ retirement community The Villages, was apprehended Wednesday by Sumter County deputies on an out-of-state warrant for bigamy.

The "Double Life" of a Marriage Expert
The 62-year-old is best known for his 2017 book, Love Her Like This: Loving Her Has Never Been Deeper. The publication is marketed as a guide for men to navigate common marital issues and deepen their biblical commitment to their spouses. Ironically, investigators in Rockdale County, Georgia, claim the commitment of Leslie Williams was spread across multiple active marriages.
Facebook Reveal Leads to Questions
The legal trouble follows a December social media post where Leslie Williams introduced a woman named Cindi as his new wife. While many followers offered congratulations, others expressed bewilderment, with one commenter noting, “Wow I thought you were already married.” Williams responded to the praise by calling his new bride "saved for real," seemingly unaware that a warrant for his arrest would be issued just months later on April 3.

Ministry and Extradition
Leslie Williams operates Leslie Williams Ministries, an organization that describes its services as “preparing you for the end of time.” The ministry is run out of a rented mailbox in a local shopping center.
The Sumter County Detention Center is currently holding Leslie Williams without bond. Officials from the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office are coordinating the extradition process to bring the pastor back to Georgia to face the felony bigamy charges.
