Ocala, Florida — Former Nurse Sentenced to Prison for Sexual Abuse of Teen Stepson
Alexis Von Yates, 35, a former nurse from Ocala, has been sentenced to two years in state prison after pleading no contest to lewd and lascivious battery involving her 15-year-old stepson.
Von Yates was discovered by her husband, Frank, inappropriately interacting with his 15-year-old stepson on the evening of July 26, 2024, while they were reportedly watching a horror movie.
Frank, a lineman who had been working the night shift, returned home to find the situation unfolding. The teen, startled by his father’s arrival, fled the living room, pants around his legs while Von Yates attempted to hide under a blanket, naked. It wasn't until November of the same year that Von Yates was finally arrested. Following the arrest, her nursing license was revoked.
In addition to her prison sentence, Von Yates was ordered to serve two years of community control and ten years of probation as a registered sex offender. She must also complete 200 hours of community service. A no-contact order with the victim was issued as part of the sentencing.
During the hearing, the victim’s mother spoke out against Von Yates, condemning her actions and describing her as an “incestuous pedophile.” Prosecutors highlighted the severity of the offense and the impact on the teenager, while the defense maintained that Von Yates had pleaded no contest to resolve the case.
Reports indicate that prior to the incident, Von Yates had been making inappropriate comments and engaging in grooming behavior, including sharing a THC vape with the teenager and making sexual jokes. The victim's mother expressed concern over the emotional trauma inflicted on her son, who is now undergoing therapy.
