Surgeon Arrested in Illinois
McKee, a vascular surgeon, was taken into custody on Saturday shortly before noon by the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office in Illinois. He faces two counts of murder for the deaths of Spencer, 37, and Monique, 39.

According to court records, McKee was married to Monique in 2015, but the couple divorced amicably in 2017. He had been living in the Rockford, Illinois area where he practiced medicine.

Children Found Unharmed
The bodies of the couple were discovered after friends requested a welfare check when Spencer failed to arrive at his dental practice. Officers found the couple’s two children, a 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son, crying but physically unharmed inside the home.

Police noted there were no signs of forced entry and no weapon was recovered at the scene. The timeline of the attack was narrowed to the early morning hours of December 30.
Vehicle Tracked by Investigators
Columbus police tracked a vehicle that arrived in the Weinland Park neighborhood prior to the murders and later traveled to Rockford, Illinois. Investigators identified the car as belonging to McKee.

The Tepe family released a statement expressing their devastation and gratitude for community support. McKee remains in custody in Illinois awaiting extradition to Ohio.
