MIAMI, FLORIDA — Shannon Marie Harris, a 46-year-old traveler, was charged with trespassing after her refusal to end a phone call forced an entire flight to return to the gate. The incident occurred on Monday, April 27, aboard a Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Miami International Airport to Atlanta.

She was taken into custody after becoming "belligerent" with flight attendants just before the plane was set for takeoff.

Shannon Marie Harris was charged with trespassing after she refused to end her phone call and forced a Delta flight to return to the gate.

A Delayed Departure

The disruption began when flight attendants asked Shannon Marie Harris to follow standard safety protocols and hang up her phone. When she refused to cooperate, the pilots were forced to turn the aircraft around. Because Harris would not exit the plane as requested, every passenger on board was required to deboard the aircraft and re-enter the terminal.

Another unidentified passenger was also taken into custody during the chaotic removal process at the gate.

Frustration boiled over as passengers groaned in unison and began chanting for the entitled traveler to get off the plane.

Outraged Passengers React

As the delay continued, dozens of frustrated flyers began chanting “Get off the plane” at Shannon Marie Harris. Video footage captured the moment travelers groaned in unison as the pilot announced they would all have to leave their seats. Flight attendants repeatedly had to tell the crowd to remain calm as tensions rose inside the cabin.

Delta Flight 1323 finally took off for Atlanta approximately one hour late due to the chaos caused by the incident.

Harris and another unidentified passenger were taken into police custody and escorted off the aircraft.

Legal Consequences

Shannon Marie Harris was formally charged with trespassing following her removal from the flight. She was later released from custody after posting a $500 bond. The incident has since gone viral, sparking conversations online about the growing frequency of unruly passenger behavior during air travel.

She was filmed being escorted away as other passengers questioned why she felt the rules did not apply to her.
