Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — A 21-year-old man has now been charged with the murder of 23-year-old Kada Scott, whose disappearance earlier this month gripped the city and ended in tragedy when her body was discovered in a shallow grave on October 19, 2025. The suspect, Keon King, now faces charges including murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, robbery, and theft. Authorities confirmed that Scott died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Last Seen and Disturbing Clues
Scott, who worked overnight at a senior-living facility, was last seen leaving her job just after 10 p.m. on October 4, 2025. Investigators say she met with King that night, as cell-phone data placed them together. Texts between the two revealed what prosecutors describe as a chilling exchange — with Scott reportedly texting, “kidnap me again,” about 12 hours before she vanished.
That same night, King allegedly stole a Hyundai Accent left running by a food delivery driver and later used the stolen vehicle during Scott’s disappearance. Officials say King had been previously accused of abducting another woman in May 2025, though that case was dropped when the victim did not appear in court. It has since been reopened as part of the current investigation.
Viral Video Screenshot and Prior Allegations
In addition to the texts and car theft, investigators are reviewing a disturbing video screenshot that resurfaced online in August 2025, reportedly showing King peering through a window at another woman’s home. The short clip — filmed months before Scott’s disappearance — was originally shared on TikTok by the unidentified woman who said she caught King attempting to enter her residence.

The viral post, which has since been removed, reignited public concern once King’s name appeared in connection with Scott’s case. Detectives are now analyzing whether this earlier incident could reveal a pattern of stalking behavior leading up to the October abduction and murder.
Discovery and Arrest
On October 19, 2025, police located Scott’s body behind the abandoned Ada H. Lewis Middle School after tracking King’s movements between the burial site and a house on Belmar Terrace. Surveillance footage allegedly showed two people moving what appeared to be a body-sized bag from King’s Toyota Camry near the area where Scott was later found. Police are still trying to pinpoint who the second person was.
Following the autopsy, King was charged with murder and related offenses and ordered held without bail. Two women seen at the Belmar Terrace residence were detained for questioning but later released without charges.

Community and Continuing Questions
Scott’s death has sparked grief and outrage throughout Philadelphia. On October 21, more than a hundred people gathered for a candlelight vigil near the school where her body was discovered, demanding justice and calling for greater protection for women in the city.
Investigators have not yet confirmed the motive behind Scott’s killing or the exact nature of her relationship with King. Police continue to explore whether he acted alone and are reviewing additional evidence, including phone records, surveillance footage, and the earlier TikTok video.
