LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — Weeks after a missing Philadelphia mother’s family hoped an FBI search would bring answers, another family is searching for a loved one who vanished while traveling alone. This time, an Australian tourist disappeared in Las Vegas after reportedly saying she was going out for a hike.
Sally Grace Contarino, 26, was visiting the United States from Melbourne, Australia. She was scheduled to return home on June 21, but never made it onto her planned trip.

Last Message Mentioned a Hike
Contarino was last in contact on June 20.
According to police reporting, she told a male friend on Facebook that she was going to Lone Mountain for a hike.
Authorities said she was last known near 9700 W. Skye Canyon Drive at around 1 p.m. that day.
The area is in northwest Las Vegas, near businesses and roads leading toward hiking areas outside the city.
Missed Her Return Trip
Contarino had traveled from Melbourne to Nevada on June 13.
Reports said she later confirmed to her sister that she had arrived at the Bungalows Hostel on Las Vegas Boulevard on June 18.

She was due to return home to Melbourne on June 21, but did not board her planned trip.
Reports also said she had bought a bus ticket from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, where she was expected to connect with her flight home, but that ticket was never scanned.
Video Shows Her Days Before Disappearance
A video later surfaced showing Contarino outside a 7-Eleven on Boulder Highway near Flamingo Road.
The footage was recorded days before she disappeared.
In the clip, a man filming with Meta smart glasses approaches her while she is smoking a cigarette and asks for her number.
Contarino smiles and politely tells him she has a boyfriend. The short exchange ends moments later when the man walks away.

The video has drawn attention online, but there is no public evidence linking the man in the clip to her disappearance.
Search Focused on Her Movements
Investigators have reviewed Contarino’s movements before she disappeared.
Reports said she had been seen at local businesses, including Timbers Bar & Grill, before leaving alone.
Police also released images of her and asked the public for information.
Contarino was last reported wearing a gray-blue sweatshirt, jean shorts, black-and-white shoes, and carrying a purse.

She is described as having brown hair and brown eyes, standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing about 130 pounds.
