BARROW COUNTY, GEORGIA – The teenager accused of carrying out a deadly school shooting that claimed four lives has appeared in court with a shocking physical transformation. Colt Gray, now 15, stunned onlookers on Tuesday by ditching his shaggy, dyed hair for a clean-cut, "preppy" new appearance.

A Drastic Transformation
Gray arrived in the courtroom handcuffed but dressed in a quarter-zip sweater, a collared shirt, and khakis. He wore glasses and sported a cut, slicked-back dark brown hairstyle. This presentation made the teen nearly unrecognizable from his previous look, where he had long, dyed orange hair that fell below his shoulders.
Defense attorney Aisha Broderick told the court that the team is still waiting for a medical evaluation of Gray to be completed. This evaluation, expected by the end of February, will guide the direction of the defense and determine future motions.

The Charges
Gray is charged as an adult for the September 4, 2024, shooting at Apalachee High School. The attack resulted in the deaths of two teachers, Richard Aspinwall and Cristina Irimie, and two 14-year-old students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo. Seven others were wounded by gunfire.
Investigators testified that Gray carried a semi-automatic assault-style rifle onto the school bus wrapped in posterboard before unleashing terror in the hallways. He faces a total of 55 counts, including murder.

Father Also Charged
The case has drawn national attention not only for the tragedy but for the legal action taken against the shooter's father. Colin Gray was indicted on 29 counts, including second-degree murder, for allegedly giving his troubled son the AR-15-style rifle as a Christmas gift.

Colt Gray's grandfather, Charles Polhamus, has publicly blamed the father for the "bloodbath," describing him as "evil." Colt Gray is scheduled to return to court on March 18.
