TAZEWELL COUNTY, ILLINOIS - A 43-year-old Illinois mother, currently being held without bail with a court appearance set for December 4, 2025, allegedly gave birth to a child conceived with a 14-year-old boy—the same boy her own daughter had taken as a date to a junior high dance, according to authorities and reports.
Polston, who served as a chaperone at the dance in May 2023, was arrested on November 3, 2025, and charged with criminal sexual assault and possession of child pornography, following an investigation that began after she gave birth in January 2025.
The Investigation and DNA Evidence
The Washington Police Department began its investigation after receiving a complaint. According to a probable cause affidavit, authorities grew suspicious when they obtained the baby's birth certificate and noted the child's middle and last names matched those of the alleged victim.
When questioned by police, Polston initially claimed the newborn's father was an unrelated "man in his twenties named Brian," with whom she said she had lost contact.
However, investigators eventually learned the alleged victim had attended a junior high dance with Polston's daughter. The boy reportedly moved away but returned for a visit in April 2024, approximately 40 weeks before Polston gave birth in January 2025.
A DNA test later confirmed the 14-year-old boy was, in fact, the father of the newborn.
Phone Records and Criminal Charges
Further investigation of phone records allegedly uncovered a "large number of sexually explicit images and videos" of Polston and the teen. Reports indicate the two used burner phones under fake names and that Polston allegedly attempted to pressure the boy into helping conceal the relationship.
Polston has been formally charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault with a victim between the ages of 13 and 17, and two counts of possession of child pornography, according to Tazewell County court records.
Prosecutors argued that Polston's mother and sister were "enablers" of the alleged relationship. She remains in custody without bail.
