BEREA, KENTUCKY — Breanna Bryant Edwards and Brian Switzer were the two dedicated bank employees whose lives were tragically cut short during a violent robbery on Thursday. Just after 2 p.m., a masked gunman entered the US Bank branch in Berea and opened fire on the staff before fleeing the scene.

Breanna Bryant Edwards, 35, and Brian Switzer, 42, were both pronounced dead after police discovered them suffering from gunshot wounds inside the bank.

A High-Speed Chase and a Narrow Escape

The unidentified suspect, wearing a gray-white hoodie and a mask, fled the bank in a silver BMW with Alabama license plates. Kentucky State Police spotted the vehicle and began a high-speed chase that lasted for 35 minutes. The pursuit finally ended when the alleged killer crashed the car into a tree and managed to escape into the woods on foot.

State troopers and federal agents quickly swarmed the area to search for the gunman, who remains at large.

An Intense Manhunt Underway

Law enforcement agencies have launched a massive search involving drones, helicopters, and door-to-door checks to find the dangerous individual. Police describe the gunman as a tall man, standing about 6 feet 3 inches, who was captured on security footage wearing dark gloves and light-colored athletic shoes. Berea College and other local schools were briefly placed on lockdown while the search continued through the night.

Kentucky State Police stated they are following several leads to bring the person they described as "evil" to justice.
