15 Year-Old Florida Boy Killed Classmate After A Bump In The School Hallway

November 6, 2025

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - A 15-year-old boy allegedly shot and killed his 16-year-old classmate following a dispute that began with them bumping into each other in a Florida high school hallway, and officials are now seeking to charge him as an adult, according to authorities.

The incident occurred on October 9 at Oak Ridge High School in Sky Lake, involving sophomores Jacori Redding, 15, and Pinien Dalmacy, 16. Orange County Sheriff John Mina reported that the two students got into an argument after the accidental bump. When Redding reportedly refused to apologize, they agreed to meet for a fight at nearby Vogt-Meloon Park after school.

The Fatal Altercation and Arrest

At the park, Redding allegedly shot Dalmacy twice before fleeing the scene and running back onto the high school campus. Deputies quickly located and arrested Redding in the school's cafeteria, where the firearm was recovered from his backpack.

The incident occurred after the two bumped into each other while walking in the hallway of Oak Ridge HIgh School in Sky Lake.

Sheriff Mina expressed profound sorrow and anger over the shooting. "My heart aches for Pinien’s family, who are grieving this unimaginable loss," he said. "And I’m angry that something as small as bumping into someone in the halls of a high school can result in a shooting death."

Charges and Prior History

Redding was originally arrested on a juvenile custody order for manslaughter with a firearm and possession of a firearm on school property. Prosecutors confirmed he will now be charged as an adult. If convicted, Redding could face up to 30 years in prison. He was slated to appear in court for a hearing to determine his pre-trial detention.

Jacori Redding, 15,  allegedly gunned down Dalmacy twice at the park before fleeing the scene.

Investigators also revealed that Redding had an extensive disciplinary history at the high school, including at least 17 documented instances of physical altercations such as battery and fighting. Furthermore, he was already facing charges for grand theft auto and resisting an officer without violence.

Text messages uncovered by police allegedly showed a "long history of talking about having a firearm and using it for violence." In a message thread, Redding reportedly wrote about making someone think they were going to fight and then "pop" the person.

Pinien Dalmacy's grieving mother described her son in a GoFundMe statement as "full of light, always smiling, always dancing, and loved by everyone." She added that the loss "has left our family completely broken."
