February 25, 1999William Lee Neal, also known as "Cody," was born on October 7, 1955. He grew up in Colorado.
In June and July of 1998, William Lee Neal, also known as "Cody," committed a series of brutal murders in Colorado. He murdered three women: Angela Fite, Candace Walters, and Rebecca Holberton. During his killing spree, he used a logging ax to bludgeon the victims to death.

Neal's attacks were particularly violent and shocking. He often tied up his victims. In one instance, he forced a woman to watch as he killed her friend. Following the murder, he raped her at gunpoint.

After confessing to the murders, Neal was arrested and faced several charges, including murder, kidnapping, and sexual assault. In February 1999, he pleaded guilty to all counts, which included three counts of first-degree murder.

On September 29, 1999, a three-judge panel sentenced Neal to death. However, in 2003, his sentence was commuted to life in prison. He remains imprisoned, having been convicted of these heinous crimes, which shocked the community and left a lasting impact on the families of the victims.
