His family dynamics and the relationships he had with parents or siblings are not widely recorded. As a teenager, Storey became more troubled and began experiencing conflicts in his personal relationships.

In the years leading up to his adult life, Storey faced significant changes. He eventually got married but struggled with intimacy and trust, which ultimately led to problems in his marriage. This period of tumult would continue to affect his life as he navigated adulthood.

Storey’s adult life was marked by instability and financial struggles. He faced challenges in holding steady employment, which contributed to a sense of desperation. Over time, his circumstances influenced his outlook on life and the decisions he would make in the years that followed.

Murder Story

On February 2, 1990, Walter Timothy Storey killed his neighbor, Jill Frey, in St. Charles County, Missouri. After receiving a divorce petition from his wife that day, Storey climbed up to Frey's balcony and entered her apartment with a knife. He attacked her, stealing her pocketbook and car keys.

The next day, Storey returned to Frey’s apartment using the stolen keys. He attempted to cover up his crime by cleaning fingerprints, discarding evidence, and even using Frey’s toothbrush to clean under her fingernails.

Frey's absence from work was noticed by her co-workers, who came to check on her. They found her body in her bedroom. The medical examination revealed severe injuries, including multiple broken ribs, blunt force trauma to her head, and fatal wounds to her neck.

Storey was later arrested and charged. A jury convicted him of first-degree murder, armed criminal action, second-degree burglary, and tampering with evidence. On November 26, 1991, he was sentenced to death. Over the years, his sentence went through multiple appeals due to various legal issues, but each time the convictions were upheld, and the death penalty was reaffirmed.
