Bio

Walter Prince, also known as Walter Jones, was born in the year 1902. He grew up in England. Prince lived in Manchester, England. By the time he was in his thirties, he had experienced various struggles. The nature of these struggles has not been widely documented, but they contributed to the choices he made later. He was around 32 years old when he was arrested for the crimes that would lead to his execution.

Murder Story

On May 4, 1929, Walter Prince killed Charles Armstrong, a 72-year-old man, in Manchester, England. The crime was not discovered until several years later. On May 2, 1934, he murdered Harriet Shaw, a 21-year-old woman, near Retford, England. Her body was found on May 5, hidden in some bushes. She had been strangled.

Walter Prince was arrested on May 7, 1934. During his trial, he claimed that he killed Harriet Shaw in revenge for infecting him with a venereal disease.

He was convicted on June 18, 1934. Prince admitted to the murder of Charles Armstrong during the proceedings. His confession cleared another man, George Fratson, who had been wrongfully sentenced to death for Armstrong's murder. Walter Prince was executed by hanging later in 1934.
