Bio

Walanzo Deon Robinson was born on April 12, 1971. He grew up in Los Angeles, California. He became involved in gang culture as a teenager. Robinson became a member of the Van-Ness Gangster Bloods, a violent street gang connected to the crack cocaine trade.

As a young man, Robinson was known by the street name "Bandit." He engaged in criminal activities that revolved around drug dealing and gang-related violence. During this period, many young people in similar environments faced challenges such as poverty, limited opportunities, and exposure to crime.

In the late 1980s, Robinson moved to Oklahoma City. He was staying with friends in the area. This decision was likely influenced by his involvement in drug-related activities. While living in Oklahoma City, he had confrontations with other individuals involved in the drug trade.

On May 19, 1989, tensions escalated between Robinson and another drug dealer named Dennis Hill. They had an argument regarding drug sales and territory on a street corner. This confrontation would later have severe consequences for both men. On September 7, 1989, Robinson was arrested in Los Angeles, four months after the conflict with Hill.

After his arrest, Robinson spent time in the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. He maintained a religious identity, calling himself Minister Walanzo Shabaka.

Murder Story

On May 19, 1989, Walanzo Deon Robinson shot and killed Dennis Hill in Oklahoma City. Robinson, who was just 18 years old at the time, was a member of a gang called the Van-Ness Gangster Bloods. He and Hill had been arguing over drug territory and customers when the shooting occurred. During the argument, Robinson accused Hill of stealing drug customers.

As Hill tried to escape, Robinson shot him in the back with a .38-caliber revolver. After Hill fell to the ground, Robinson approached him and shot him two more times while he lay on the street. Witnesses saw the entire event unfold. They testified that Robinson shot Hill as he was trying to flee and then shot him again as he was down, pleading for help.

Following the murder, Robinson fled Oklahoma and was arrested in Los Angeles on September 7, 1989. He was identified by multiple witnesses, who referred to him by his street name, "Bandit."

The trial for Robinson took place in 1990. Witnesses presented conflicting testimonies, but ultimately, he was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. His appeals for clemency were denied, and he continued to claim his innocence throughout the process.

On March 18, 2003, Robinson was executed by lethal injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. His last meal included cucumber salad, beef sausage pizza, a chocolate fudge sundae, and dill pickle halves. Although his final statement was inaudible, he maintained his innocence until the end.
