Bio

Tyree Lincoln Smith was born on January 11, 1977, to Cheryl Rabb and Adolph Smith. His mother was a young 18 years old at the time of his birth, while his father was 21. They married less than a month before Tyree's seventh birthday. Tyree grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and later moved to Ansonia when he was 12 years old. He attended public school and had a girlfriend named Roshonda Young during his time at Ansonia High School. He was considered an above-average student until 11th grade, when his grades dropped significantly, leading him to drop out of school in September 1994.

After leaving high school, Tyree enrolled in Job Corps, a program designed to help young people earn a high school diploma and learn various trades. He then moved to California, where he began working as a model. He fathered two sons with different partners during this time. In 2007, he faced legal trouble when he was charged with assaulting a girlfriend in Yolo County. He was convicted but received probation instead of prison time.

Tyree's mental health issues emerged throughout his life. He reportedly struggled with hallucinations and hearing voices, which added to his challenges. By September 2010, he had reached out for psychiatric help, as seen in a Facebook post where he mentioned going to see a therapist. Over the years, Tyree's mental health fluctuated, and he was in and out of psychiatric care, often living a transient life.

In 2011, he moved to Lynn Haven, Florida, where he lived with a girlfriend. During this period, he became increasingly withdrawn and aggressive, claiming that he heard voices that commanded him to kill. His mental state worsened after he lost his job at Starbucks in December 2010.

Before the tragic events that later occurred, Tyree traveled back to Bridgeport, Connecticut, to visit family. He appeared disoriented and was often seen talking about troubling topics, including writing a book about dark subjects. He hinted at needing to "get blood on his hands," which led to concern from relatives about his well-being.

Murder Story

On December 15, 2011, Tyree Lincoln Smith killed Angel "Tun Tun" Gonzalez in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Smith used an axe to attack Gonzalez, who was a homeless man staying in an abandoned apartment building. He then took parts of Gonzalez's body, including his eyes and some brain matter, and consumed them at Lakeview Cemetery.

Smith had arrived at his cousin's apartment earlier that day, expressing a desire to "get blood on his hands." The day after the murder, he returned to his cousin's house with blood on his clothes and the axe, and he confessed to her what he had done.

The police were alerted to the situation by Smith's cousin. They found Gonzalez's body on January 20, 2012, more than a month after the murder, in a vacant apartment where he had died from blunt force trauma.

After the murder, Smith fled to Florida and was arrested there on January 23, 2012. When questioned, he admitted to the killing and eating parts of the body. He was later deemed not guilty by reason of insanity and was committed to a high-security psychiatric hospital for 60 years starting on September 11, 2013.
