Bio

Timothy Pruitt was born in 1966. He grew up in Lumpkin County, Georgia. Pruitt had interactions with several individuals in his neighborhood. One of these was Tammy Lovell, who was his ex-wife. They were trying to reconcile their relationship during the early part of 1992. Pruitt sometimes stayed at Lovell's trailer, where she lived with her two young sons.

The living arrangements in the area included trailer homes rented by Myrtle Ricketts. Ricketts rented one trailer to Lovell and another to Vicky Gottschalk, who lived with her ten-year-old daughter, Wendy Nicole Vincent.

By April 1992, Pruitt was facing personal issues, including tensions with Lovell. This led to arguments between them during his visits. On April 9, 1992, Pruitt arrived at Lovell's trailer late at night, where their argument escalated. He left the trailer angrily and was reportedly in a state of distress.

Murder Story

On April 10, 1992, Timothy Pruitt committed a violent crime in Lumpkin County, Georgia. He killed a 10-year-old girl named Wendy Nicole Vincent, who was his neighbor. Pruitt broke into Wendy's home while she was sleeping. He used a knife to stab her multiple times and also caused serious injury to her. After he attacked her, he left the scene, leaving Wendy unconscious and bleeding.

Later that morning, Wendy's mother returned home to find her daughter lifeless on the bedroom floor. This tragic discovery led to calls for help. Pruitt, who was staying with his ex-wife that night, acted as if nothing had happened and even checked for Wendy's pulse.

The police quickly became suspicious of Pruitt due to his behavior and his injuries. They searched the trailer he was staying in and found evidence linking him to the crime, including bloodstains on his clothes. They also found that his shoes matched a print left at the crime scene.

Pruitt was arrested later that day. The investigation revealed DNA evidence that tied him to the crime, including semen found on the victim. The forensic evidence presented during the trial showed that Pruitt had a strong connection to the scene of the murder and the victim.

On October 15, 1996, he was sentenced to death for his crimes. The case went through various legal challenges before the sentencing was finalized. Pruitt's actions and the surrounding circumstances highlighted the profound loss experienced by the victim's family and the community.
