— Timothy McCorquodale
Timothy Wesley McCorquodale was born on November 2, 1952 in the United States.
On the night of January 16, 1974, 17-year-old Donna Marie Dixon was in the Peachtree Street area of Atlanta with a friend. She was later taken to an apartment by Timothy McCorquodale and another man after an argument began in a bar.
Inside the apartment, Dixon was beaten, sexually assaulted, tortured, and seriously injured over several hours. Witnesses later testified that McCorquodale carried out much of the violence.
When the attack ended, he strangled Dixon and killed her. Her body was hidden, removed from the apartment, and dumped in Clayton County, where it was later found by authorities.
McCorquodale was arrested, tried, and convicted of murder. He was sentenced to death. After many appeals were denied, he was executed in Georgia’s electric chair on September 21, 1987.
