June 1, 1989Timothy Alexander Robinson was born on August 27, 1966. He grew up in Florida. Growing up in a state with a warm climate, he experienced the typical activities of childhood, such as playing outside and spending time with friends.
As he got older, Timothy's life began to change. He became involved in a group known as the "Miami Boys." This group was tied to drug activities in Pensacola, Florida. Being part of this group brought challenges and a criminal lifestyle that would later define much of his life.
Timothy Alexander Robinson was involved in a tragic series of events that resulted in multiple murders on September 20, 1988. He, along with his associates, operated as part of a drug organization known as the “Miami Boys” in Pensacola, Florida. Tensions arose when two men, Derek Devan Hill and Michael Alfonso Douglass, stole drugs and money from another member of the organization, Michael Anthony McCormick. These stolen goods were given to Darlene Crenshaw to keep safe.
On August 18, 1988, Robinson and his accomplices forced their way into the home of Hill and Douglass. Inside were other individuals, including Crenshaw and Amanda Merrell. They bound everyone with electrical cords and demanded to know where the stolen money and drugs were hidden. When they did not receive the answers they wanted, Robinson began to stab Hill.
Crenshaw eventually agreed to lead the assailants to the hidden money and drugs. During this time, Robinson and another accomplice, Michael Coleman, also sexually assaulted Merrell and another woman, Mildred Jean Baker. After obtaining information on the missing items, the assailants shot and stabbed the remaining prisoners.
Amanda Merrell managed to survive despite her injuries. She contacted the authorities, but the others tragically did not survive the attack. Robinson was later arrested and charged with various crimes, including first-degree murder. He was found guilty on all counts and sentenced to death on September 26, 1989.
