Tiffany Nicole Moss was born on July 20, 1983. She grew up in a family that faced several challenges. Information about her early life is limited, but it is known that she had a difficult upbringing. As a young adult, Tiffany worked as a preschool teacher.

In 2004, Tiffany's future husband, Eman Giovanni Moss, was charged with battery and second-degree child cruelty after he physically assaulted Emani's biological mother in front of her. Eman gained custody of Emani after her mother, who was addicted to drugs, surrendered her parental rights shortly after Emani was born on April 23, 2003. Emani was one of five children, but all were given up by their mother.

Eman often took Emani to church, where he eventually met Tiffany. They got married in July 2009 and had two children together. After the wedding, Tiffany became Emani's stepmother. There are no records showing that Tiffany abused her biological children, but there were many documented instances of her mistreatment of Emani.

Tiffany's abuse of Emani reportedly began shortly after the couple got married. In March 2010, Tiffany lost her job after an incident where Emani was beaten. Emani, just six years old at the time, expressed fear about going home due to the possibility of being hurt. A school nurse found signs of abuse and reported it, leading to Tiffany being charged with child cruelty.

Tiffany was placed on probation but later regained custody of Emani after Emani was temporarily placed with her grandmother. Following this, the child returned to live with Eman and Tiffany.

During the following years, Emani's situation continued to worsen. She was reported to have attempted to run away multiple times, expressing distress about her home life. Despite the concerns raised by teachers and family members, Emani was returned to Eman's home each time.

Eman's work kept him away during long hours, leaving Tiffany in charge of the children. Over time, their living conditions changed frequently, but amidst this, Emani remained dependent on her father and stepmother for care and support. The relationship between Tiffany and Emani was strained, and Tiffany's frustrations appeared to grow.

murder story

In May 2013, Emani Moss was last seen by her family members, except for her father and stepmother, Tiffany Moss. The family was living in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where Emani was subjected to severe abuse. During the summer of 2013, Emani became largely isolated and confined to her bedroom, while her stepmother allegedly began to starve her. This starvation continued for several weeks, making Emani too weak to move. Neighbors only saw Tiffany's biological children and did not realize Emani was living in the home.

On October 24, 2013, Emani suffered what her father thought was a seizure. Tiffany told Eman that something was wrong with Emani, who was found unresponsive in the bathtub. Emani was taken to her bed and stayed there for the next few days, unable to eat. Emani died on October 28, 2013, weighing only 32 pounds, which was the weight of an average three-year-old.

After Emani's death, Tiffany and Eman decided to conceal what had happened. They kept Emani's body in their apartment for several days before attempting to dispose of it. The couple bought a trash can and attempted to burn Emani's body, but the fire did not fully consume it. They transported the trash can with Emani's remains to a secluded area but found it did not burn completely. They returned with the body to their apartment.

The day after the attempted cremation, Eman confessed to a friend about Emani's death. Following that, he called the police, claiming Emani had taken chemicals and died. However, investigators quickly realized his story was false, leading to their arrest. Both Tiffany and Eman were charged in connection with Emani's death. Eman pled guilty and agreed to testify against Tiffany, who chose to go to trial.

The trial began in April 2019. Despite being given the opportunity, Tiffany represented herself and did not present a defense during the proceedings. She was found guilty of several charges, including malice murder and cruelty to children, by the end of April. On May 1, 2019, she was sentenced to death, making her the first woman in Georgia to receive such a sentence in over five years.

Tiffany is currently on death row, awaiting execution at Arrendale State Prison.
