Bio

Thomas Rung was born on January 3, 1961. He was one of seven children in his family. When he was just two years old, his mother left the family. This left a significant impact on him and his siblings.

Thomas attended a special school. During his time at school, he stood out for having emotional breakdowns and physical injuries. His behavior was troubling and drew attention from teachers and school staff.

Before he was arrested in 1995, Rung had already been in trouble with the law. He had multiple offenses and had spent time in detention for various crimes.

Murder Story

Between 1983 and 1995, Thomas Rung committed a series of murders in Berlin, Germany. He killed a total of seven victims during this time. His victims included six women and one man, aged from 22 to 85. Rung used methods such as drowning and strangulation to carry out these crimes.

His first murders took place in 1983 when he killed his landlady and a student. For the murder of his landlady, another person was wrongfully convicted and spent six years in prison.

After years of police investigation, Rung was arrested on February 28, 1995. He was not immediately linked to all the murders due to the time gaps between them. In 1996, he was sentenced to life in prison for his crimes.

While in prison, Rung continued to be violent and abusive. In 2001, he attacked a fellow inmate, which resulted in an additional sentence of two years and eight months. In 2003, he caused the death of another prison inmate, leading to a ten-year extension of his sentence and a second preventive detention for attempted homicide.

After these incidents, Rung was moved to the Berlin Moabit prison, as the Tegel prison refused to accept him again. He remains a convicted serial killer and is considered one of the most dangerous in Berlin since World War II.
