Tasmiyah Janeesha Whitehead, born on November 27, 1993, in Georgia, was one of identical twin daughters of Jarmecca "Nikki" Whitehead. Raised primarily by their great-grandmother, Della Frazier, due to their mother's challenges in parenting, Tasmiyah and her sister Jasmiyah were honor roll students and participated in activities like Girl Scouts. Despite their academic achievements, the twins had a tumultuous relationship with their mother, marked by frequent arguments and physical altercations. In January 2010, after a court-mandated two-week trial period living with their mother, tensions escalated tragically.
murder story
On January 13, 2010, an argument erupted between Nikki Whitehead and her daughters over their tardiness for school. The confrontation escalated into a violent struggle. According to their confessions, Nikki attempted to discipline them with a pot, leading to a physical altercation. Jasmiyah struck her mother with a vase, and Tasmiyah stabbed her multiple times. They then dragged Nikki's body to the bathtub, where she succumbed to her injuries. After attempting to clean the scene, the twins went to school and later reported discovering their mother's body.
Investigators found inconsistencies in the twins' statements and physical evidence linking them to the crime, including bite marks and their mother's blood on their clothing. They were arrested on May 21, 2010, and initially pleaded not guilty. In January 2014, Tasmiyah accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and other charges, resulting in a 30-year prison sentence. She is currently incarcerated at Pulaski State Prison in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
