Takahiro Shiraishi was born on October 9, 1990, in Zama, a city in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. As a child, he lived in a typical household in Japan. His upbringing included the usual routines of school and home life. However, it was noted that he struggled with personal connections and was often described as a quiet and reserved person.
As a teenager, Takahiro had a group of friends, with whom he occasionally engaged in dangerous activities known as choking games. These games involved friends trying to choke each other as a form of thrill-seeking. This behavior was an early sign of his complex relationship with violence. It is important to note that such actions were not common and were considered risky among his peers.
After finishing school, Takahiro took on various jobs. He eventually became involved in the sex industry, working as a scout in Kabukicho, Tokyo's famous red-light district. In this role, he lured women into brothels. His actions led people in the area to perceive him as a creepy figure, and warnings about him began to circulate among locals.
In August 2017, Takahiro moved from Tokyo to an apartment in Zama. This change marked a significant time in his life, as he began to take new and troubling steps. Reports indicate that he started using social media platforms, particularly Twitter, to reach out to individuals who were expressing feelings of distress or suicidal thoughts. He offered to assist them or simply to watch them as they sought to end their lives.
murder story
Takahiro Shiraishi moved to an apartment in Zama in August 2017. He targeted young people, especially those who were feeling vulnerable. His approach involved reaching out to people who expressed suicidal thoughts on social media. He offered to help them, claiming he could assist in their plans.
On October 23, 2017, police became involved when the brother of a missing woman started searching for her. With help from a woman named Yumi, they arranged to meet Shiraishi. The police were then alerted about the situation. When they arrived at Shiraishi's apartment, he showed them where the missing woman was. He indicated that she was in the freezer.
The police found a total of nine bodies in his apartment. The bodies had been dismembered and were found in cooler boxes and large storage boxes. Neighbors reported noticing a terrible smell coming from Shiraishi’s unit, which raised their suspicions. He had also thrown parts of the victims in his trash.
During the investigation, Shiraishi confessed to killing and dismembering the victims. His victims included eight women and one man, all aged between 15 and 26. He stated that his motive was sexual, using the vulnerability of his victims to manipulate and assault them.
Shiraishi was arrested on October 31, 2017. He pled guilty to nine counts of murder on October 1, 2020. On December 15, 2020, he was sentenced to death. Shiraishi has chosen not to appeal his sentence. His death sentence was finalized in January 2021, and he is currently awaiting execution.
