murder story

On July 6, 2012, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf lured their friend Skylar Neese from her home in Star City, West Virginia, under the pretense of a late-night drive. They drove to a secluded area just across the Pennsylvania border, a spot they had frequented before. Once there, upon a prearranged signal, they attacked Skylar, stabbing her multiple times until she succumbed to her injuries. They attempted to bury her body but, finding the ground too hard, covered it with branches and debris instead.

In the months following the murder, Shelia maintained a facade of normalcy, even assisting in distributing missing person flyers and expressing concern on social media. However, as the investigation progressed, evidence pointed towards her involvement. On May 1, 2013, Shelia was arrested and later pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on January 24, 2014. She was sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole after 15 years.
