Sergey Aleksandrovich Golovkin was born on November 26, 1959, in Moscow, Soviet Union. His family faced many challenges. His father struggled with alcoholism, and his parents divorced in 1988. Sergey had a birth defect in his sternum and also dealt with health issues like frequent bronchitis and indigestion.

In school, Golovkin was a loner. He had few friends, and his classmates noticed that he was not interested in girls. He faced another difficulty, known as enuresis, which made him worry that others could smell his urine. He felt isolated during his childhood. Golovkin attended classes with Armen Grigoryan, who later became the front-man for a band called Krematorij.

At the age of 13, Sergey's behavior changed. He began to show sadistic tendencies. One of the incidents involved him catching a cat and harming it. This period marked the beginning of troubling behaviors that would develop over time.

After completing his education, Golovkin graduated from the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in 1982. He then found work at a racetrack and later as a livestock expert at a stud farm in Moscow. His skills in horse breeding were recognized, and he received a silver medal at a trade show in 1989.

murder story

In April 1986, Sergey Golovkin committed his first murder near Katuar railway station in Nekrasov, Moscow Oblast. He encountered 15-year-old Andrey Pavlov. Golovkin threatened him with a knife and pulled him into the forest. He raped Pavlov and then strangled him. Afterward, Golovkin committed necrophilia on the body.

In July 1986, Golovkin kidnapped his second victim. He took 12-year-old Andrey Gulyaev from a summer camp near Odintsovo. Golovkin also threatened Gulyaev with a knife, took him to the forest, and raped and strangled him. Afterward, he dismembered Gulyaev’s body.

A few days later, authorities found a dead body of a 16-year-old boy in the Odintsovsky District. The body had 35 stab wounds and was dismembered. Golovkin later denied any involvement in this murder.

In 1988, Golovkin bought a beige VAZ-2103 car. He began to build a basement in his garage, which he ended up using as a dungeon for his crimes. From August 1990, he killed eight boys aged 10 to 16 years. On several occasions, he tortured two boys at the same time. In September 1992, Golovkin raped and killed three boys he lured into his garage. He offered to help them steal from a warehouse. He tortured one of the boys for 12 hours before hanging him up and going to work.

On October 5, 1992, the bodies of the last three victims were discovered by mushroom pickers. Golovkin was arrested on October 19, 1992. During the interrogation, he initially denied guilt. However, he later confessed to the last three murders. The police searched his garage and found evidence, including blood and body parts. Golovkin then admitted to a total of 11 murders and disclosed where he left the bodies.

Golovkin was diagnosed as sane but with schizoid disorder and psychopathy. He was sentenced to death on October 19, 1994. He was executed on August 2, 1996, by a single gunshot to the back of the head. He was the last person executed in Russia before the death penalty was abolished.
