murder story

Scott Wilson Williams is a convicted serial killer who murdered three women in North Carolina. His victims were Sharon House Pressley, Christina Outz Parker, and Sharon Tucker Stone. Pressley, who was 37 years old, was murdered in 1997. Parker, aged 34, was killed in 2004. Stone, 46, was the last victim, murdered in 2006.

The discovery of Stone's remains in 2006 started the investigation that eventually led to Williams. A man found her remains while picking up cans. At the time, Williams was employed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He had no prior criminal record and initially did not attract attention from law enforcement. Investigators later described him as someone who had lived a normal life, except for the incidents involving the murders.

Williams was identified as an acquaintance of Stone, which led to his arrest on March 9, 2006. All three victims were shot in the head and showed signs of mutilation. During interviews with law enforcement, it became clear that he also knew Parker and Pressley. It was discovered that Parker and Stone were acquainted as well.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Union County—Chesterfield County Homicide Task Force, the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI. Evidence against Williams included DNA, ballistics, witness identifications, and incriminating statements made by him.

On July 18, 2008, facing the death penalty for the three murder charges, Williams entered Alford pleas, which allowed him to plead guilty while not admitting to the crimes. He was sentenced to three consecutive life terms without parole. In addition to the murder charges, he also entered Alford pleas for first-degree kidnapping, rape, and sexual offenses against two other women from 1995 and 2000. Williams is currently imprisoned at Alexander Correctional Institution.
