June 18, 2012Sandra Inman was born in 1967. She grew up in a rural environment in Ohio. Little is known about her early life, but she eventually became a mother and later a grandmother. She married William A. Inman and started a family. They had two children together, William A. "Will" Inman and a daughter.
Throughout Sandra's life, she was involved in her family's activities and worked alongside her husband. They attempted to start a ministry, and at one point, they converted their garage into a makeshift church. The family faced financial difficulties that affected their stability. They temporarily moved to Florida for work but eventually returned to Ohio.
Sandra’s son, Will, married Summer Cook Inman. The couple had three children together. Sandra’s relationship with her daughter-in-law began well, but it eventually became strained due to family conflicts, particularly surrounding the couple's tumultuous marriage.
As Will and Summer's relationship deteriorated, tensions in the family increased. Summer eventually filed for divorce and left with their children. During this difficult period, Sandra found herself caught in the middle of her son's personal struggles and the challenges that arose from Summer's desire for independence from the family.
While facts about her childhood and personal life are sparse, these details highlight a woman who played a significant role in a family that faced many challenges over the years. Sandra's later actions would result in her deeply entangled in a tragic event related to this family drama.
On March 22, 2011, Summer Inman, a 25-year-old woman and mother of three, was kidnapped in Logan, Ohio. Her mother-in-law, Sandra Inman, admitted it was her idea to take Summer to ask for weekend visits with her grandchildren. Sandra was driving a car while her husband, Bill Inman, and their son, Will Inman, were in the back seat. They used plastic zip ties to bind Summer's wrists.
During the kidnapping, Summer struggled and cried out, expressing fear about never seeing her children again. In an attempt to restrain her, Will accidentally strangled her with a zip tie. After realizing that Summer had stopped breathing, panic set in among the three Inmans.
To hide Summer's body, Sandra led them to a septic tank behind Faith Tabernacle Church. She initially considered disposing of the body in the nearby Hocking River but changed her mind, believing it would be harder for authorities to find summer inside the tank.
The following days were crucial, as the authorities launched a search for Summer. Just two days after the kidnapping, Sandra, under questioning, guided the police to the location where Summer's body was found. They discovered her body head-first in the septic tank, confirming suspicions of foul play.
Sandra Inman, along with her family members, was arrested shortly after the incident. On June 18, 2012, she pleaded guilty to charges related to her role in the crime and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. She expressed remorse, stating that she believed the events spiraled out of control and that none of them intended for harm to come to Summer.
