Bio

Salvatore Perrone was born in 1948 in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in a neighborhood near the busy streets of Brooklyn where the diverse cultures shaped his early life. He attended local schools and was known to be sociable but struggled to connect deeply with his peers.

During his teenage years, Perrone developed an interest in clothing and fashion. He would become an independent salesman, specializing in women’s apparel. This job allowed him to meet many people and travel around Brooklyn, but it also led him into financial difficulties as the years went by. Reportedly, he faced struggles with alcohol, which compounded his financial problems.

Perrone faced multiple arrests in his life, mostly related to drunken driving and other minor offenses. Despite these challenges, he remained hopeful about his clothing business and even registered a trademark for a clothing line named “Salvatore Pirrone” in 2007. However, it's unclear if any products were ever made under this label.

Throughout his adult life, he moved between different apartments, sometimes living with a girlfriend. His home on Staten Island was described as unkempt, showing signs of neglect. Neighbors noted his odd behavior; he was often seen yelling and singing in the streets.

Murder Story

On July 6, 2012, Salvatore Perrone murdered Mohamed Gebeli, age 65, inside his clothing store in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Gebeli was found with a gunshot wound to the neck. Perrone then killed his second victim, Isaac Kadare, age 59, on August 2, 2012. Kadare was shot in the head and had his throat cut inside his dollar store in Bensonhurst. The third victim, Rahmatollah Vahidipour, age 78, was shot on November 16, 2012, in his clothing shop located in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighborhood. Vahidipour was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, face, and chest.

Perrone used the same sawed-off .22-caliber rifle in each of the killings. After the murders, he attempted to hide the bodies by covering them with clothing and other items from the shops. A connection between the three murders was made when police found .22-caliber shell casings at all the crime scenes.

On November 20, 2012, police arrested Perrone after he was recognized from surveillance footage carrying a black duffel bag near the location of one of the murders. When authorities searched his girlfriend’s home, they discovered the duffel bag containing the murder weapon and a knife. The evidence also included surveillance videos, DNA, and cellphone records that linked him to the crimes.

Eventually, Perrone was charged with three counts of murder. On March 4, 2016, he was sentenced to 75 years to life in prison for his actions.
