Bio

Saeed Qashash was born in 1979 in Jordan. He grew up in a family that had high expectations for him. From a young age, Saeed was under a lot of pressure to perform well in school. His parents often emphasized the importance of education, which is common in many families. As he got older, Saeed struggled with his studies. He was not able to meet the expectations set by his family.

Growing up, Saeed had two brothers and four sisters. Family dynamics can be challenging, and in Saeed's case, it seems that his relationships with his family were complicated. His parents were particularly critical of him when he failed to pass his secondary school exams. This constant criticism and pressure likely affected him deeply.

Saeed lived in Amman, the capital city of Jordan. He was a quiet young man who often kept to himself. It's not clear what other personal interests or friendships he had, but the criticisms from his family were a big part of his teenage years. As he faced ongoing academic struggles, his feelings of frustration may have grown.

As Saeed reached adulthood, the pressure to succeed did not ease. Instead, it became a source of significant stress for him. This stress and pressure from his family created a situation that would lead to tragic outcomes later in his life. In June 1998, at the age of 19, he committed crimes that shocked his community. Afterward, he was arrested and later executed for his actions in 1999.

Murder Story

On June 10, 1998, Saeed Qashash committed a mass murder in Jordan. He shot and killed 12 people, including 11 members of his family and a friend. His victims were his parents, two brothers, four sisters, a brother-in-law, two nephews aged two and three, and a close friend.

After the murders, Qashash hid the bodies behind a brick wall in the basement of his family home. This was done to conceal the crime. A few days later, police arrested him, and he confessed to what he had done. Qashash stated that his family had criticized him for not passing his secondary school exams, which pushed him to commit the acts.

He was charged and found guilty of the murders. In November 1998, he was sentenced to death. On June 6, 1999, he was executed by hanging in his prison cell at Swaqa Prison, located about 60 miles south of Amman. He was 20 years old at the time of his execution. The public and media reacted with shock and condemnation towards his actions.
