Bio

Ronford Lee Styron Jr. was born on August 23, 1969. He grew up in Dayton, Texas, located in Liberty County. Styron had a difficult upbringing and is known to have faced challenges during his early years. Growing up, he displayed aggressive behavior, with signs of bullying and getting into fights with classmates from a young age. By the time he reached seventh grade, he had already established a reputation for violence.

Styron was expelled from school due to his impulsive actions. As he grew older, his issues continued. He enlisted in the military but faced problems with authority. He was discharged after he punched his sergeant. This incident was one of many that showcased his struggles with anger management and authority figures.

After his time in the military, Styron returned home, where his relationships were strained. In his neighborhood, he gained a reputation for being overly aggressive. Neighbors reported that he often took his anger out on his belongings, including physically damaging his car. He had multiple confrontations with people, including a violent fight with a neighbor, which left the man with serious injuries.

His behavior led to a series of run-ins with the law. In 1991, he was convicted of unlawfully carrying a weapon and was sentenced to probation. A few years later, he was convicted of assault.

Murder Story

On October 23, 1993, Ronford Lee Styron Jr. attacked his 11-month-old son, Lee Hollace Styron, at their home in Liberty County, Texas. He punched the child multiple times in the head and face. The punches caused the baby to black out and behave abnormally. Styron did not seek medical help for his son right away. He delayed taking Lee to the hospital until three days later when the child's condition worsened.

Doctors found that Lee had subdural hemorrhaging that resulted from the trauma to his head. He died two days after being admitted to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Medical examination revealed that Lee had suffered from a long history of abuse, with at least ten broken bones and other signs of physical neglect. This included injuries from being punched, shaken, and even being dunked in ice water.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Styron had shown little care for his child's condition. He had a history of aggressive behavior and had previously been involved in various violent incidents. Styron believed that Lee might not be his biological child and had expressed anger toward his wife over this suspicion.

Styron was arrested five days after Lee's death and was later indicted for capital murder. His trial took place in 1994, where he pleaded not guilty but admitted to striking the child. However, he claimed he only meant to stop the baby from choking and had no intention to kill him. The jury found him guilty, and he was sentenced to death.

Ronford Lee Styron Jr. was executed by lethal injection on May 16, 2002. In his last words, he expressed love for his family and mentioned wanting to be with his son. His final meal included a platter of Mexican food, soft drinks, pickles, olives, and ice cream.
