May 10, 1991Ronald Lee Williams was born on February 26, 1963. He grew up in the United States, but not much is known about his early life and family background. As a child and teenager, he lived in an environment that shaped his future choices.
Growing up, Ronald became involved in various activities that would later lead him into a life of crime. He was known to have a strong personality and often took on leadership roles among his peers. This desire for power and control influenced his later actions.
During his youth, Williams moved to Miami, Florida. This city was bustling with opportunities but also with crime and drugs. It was here that he began to associate with people involved in drug trafficking. As he got older, his involvement in the drug scene grew, and he eventually became the leader of a group known as the “Miami Boys.” This group was responsible for drug trafficking operations that extended from Miami to Pensacola.
The choices Ronald made during his early years set the stage for his future. He became known as a driven and ambitious person. However, his life took a dark turn as he became deeply entrenched in illegal activities.
Ronald Lee Williams was the leader of a drug-trafficking ring known as the “Miami Boys.” On September 20, 1988, four people were murdered in Escambia County, Florida. The victims were Derek Devan Hill, Michael Alfonso Douglass, Michael Anthony McCormack, and Mildred Jean Baker.
Bruce Frazier, one of Williams' employees, became worried after he broke up with his girlfriend. He feared she would tell the police about their drug activities. To protect their interests, Frazier and McCormick, a lower-level member of the drug ring, moved a safe containing drugs and money to McCormick’s apartment. However, McCormick later claimed that the safe and its contents had been stolen.
On September 18, 1988, Williams ordered three men from Miami to travel to Pensacola to recover the stolen money and drugs. They met with McCormick and Frazier at a hotel. The group obtained weapons and broke into a neighboring apartment where several people, including the victims, were present. The men ordered the occupants to undress, bound them, and began to interrogate them about the location of the safe.
When the victims were uncooperative, one of the men began stabbing Derek Hill. A woman named Darlene Crenshaw then revealed that she supposedly knew where the safe was located. After this confession, McCormick was also bound and stabbed. Frazier and another man left to retrieve the stolen goods, while the others stayed at the apartment.
During this time, two members of the group sexually assaulted Mildred Baker and Amanda Merrill. They continued to stab and mutilate several of the victims. Eventually, the attackers began killing the bound individuals. Four victims were found dead at the scene, while Amanda Merrill survived despite severe injuries.
Ronald Lee Williams was found guilty of all charges related to the murders. He did not directly participate in the killings but was convicted for orchestrating the crimes. On June 21, 1991, he was sentenced to death for his role in the murders.
