1975Robert Poulin was born in 1957 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He attended St. Pius X High School. He was known to be involved in activities like shooting, which suggests an interest in firearms from an early age. He was also a member of a local militia group, where he trained as a sharpshooter.
On October 27, 1975, Robert Poulin, an 18-year-old student at St. Pius X High School in Ottawa, Ontario, committed a series of violent acts. He first killed Kimberly Rabot, a 17-year-old, at a youth home. He raped and stabbed her before setting her body on fire in his basement bedroom.
Later that day, Poulin took a shotgun to his school. He opened fire on his classmates, wounding five students and killing Mark Potvin, who was 18 years old. Potvin was shot while trying to prevent Poulin from entering a classroom by kicking the door shut. After the shooting, Poulin turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
One of the injured students who was shot by Poulin died from their injuries a little over a month later. The tragic events at St. Pius X High School left a deep impact on the community.
