Bio

Robert Brice Morrow was born on June 3, 1957, in Texas, United States. Before the murder of Lisa Allison in 1996, Morrow lived in Texas. During his trial, witnesses said Morrow had talked before about kidnapping, raping, and killing a woman from a car wash. Prosecutors used this testimony to argue that the crime was planned and not a random act.

By 1996, Morrow was connected to the Liberty County area. After Lisa Allison disappeared, investigators found hair and blood evidence that linked him to the car she had been driving. This evidence became an important part of the case against him.

Murder Story

On April 3, 1996, 21-year-old Lisa Allison was home in Texas during spring break. That evening, she left her parents’ house around 8:30 p.m. to wash her father’s car at a nearby car wash. She planned to use the car the next day for a trip to Houston. Lisa did not return home. Her family became worried, and a search began. The next day, her body was found floating in the Trinity River in Liberty County, Texas. Investigators found that she had been badly beaten and her throat had been cut.

Police later focused on Robert Brice Morrow as a suspect. Hair and blood evidence found in the car Lisa had been driving linked him to the crime. Witnesses also said Morrow had talked before about kidnapping, raping, and killing a woman from a car wash. Morrow was arrested on June 19, 1996. He was charged with capital murder because prosecutors said Lisa was killed during a kidnapping. This made the case eligible for the death penalty under Texas law.

At trial, Morrow claimed he was not involved and said he had an alibi. Prosecutors presented the forensic evidence, witness testimony, and details about his earlier statements. In 1997, a jury found him guilty of capital murder. The jury took about 13 minutes to sentence him to death. Morrow spent the following years on Texas death row and filed appeals in state and federal courts. His conviction and death sentence were not overturned.

Shortly before his execution, Morrow admitted that he had lied about his alibi. He accepted responsibility for killing Lisa Allison, but claimed she had gone with him willingly from the car wash. Prosecutors, the courts, and the victim’s family did not accept that version of events.

Robert Brice Morrow was executed by lethal injection in Texas on November 4, 2004. Before his death, he apologized to Lisa Allison’s parents and said he was responsible for what he had done. He was pronounced dead at the age of 47.
