Bio

Paul William Scott was born on May 9, 1956. He grew up in California and experienced a challenging childhood. Specific details about his family background and early years are not widely documented. However, what is known indicates that he faced various difficulties during his formative years.

As a young adult, Scott became involved with the criminal justice system. He had prior convictions that led to time in prison. At one point, he was on parole for a second-degree murder charge before his involvement in more serious criminal activities, which ultimately led to more severe consequences.

Murder Story

On December 4, 1978, Paul William Scott and his accomplice, Richard Kondian, committed a murder in Palm Beach County, Florida. The victim was James Alessi. Scott and Kondian were known to Alessi, and they traveled to his home together.

In Alessi’s home, things turned violent. Scott and Kondian attacked him, causing severe injuries. Alessi was found the next day, December 5, 1978. His body was discovered on a sofa, covered in blood. His hands and feet were bound with electrical cords and telephone wires. Alessi had been struck multiple times on his head, chest, and arms. One blow caused a serious skull fracture, and the medical examination concluded that the injuries led to his death.

After the attack, Scott and Kondian searched through Alessi's house and took items, including gold jewelry. They also stole Alessi's car. A month later, on January 5, 1979, Scott and Kondian were arrested in Sacramento, California. At the time of his arrest, Scott was found with a gold charm that belonged to Alessi.

Following their arrest, Scott was charged with first-degree murder. His trial began, and he was found guilty on October 10, 1979. By a 7 to 5 vote, the jury recommended the death penalty. Scott was sentenced to death on December 14, 1979. His legal appeals continued for years, but the courts upheld his conviction and sentence.
