Bio

Patrick Tissier was born on August 24, 1952, in Bourges, France. He was the youngest of six children in his family. His home life was troubled, as his parents often fought violently with each other. This environment had a significant impact on him and his siblings.

When Patrick was 11 years old, his mother left the family. After her departure, Patrick started an apprenticeship as an electrician. His father later began a relationship with a woman named Maria Luna. During this time, when Patrick was 16, he made two attempts to assault Maria in 1969.

In 1971, Patrick committed a serious crime by killing and assaulting his 18-year-old girlfriend. He was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison. After serving his sentence, he was released and began to rebuild his life.

In 1992, Patrick moved to Perpignan, where he lived near the train station. He took jobs working for a market gardener, in a hotel, and eventually selling medicinal plants. At this time, he met a woman named Marie-Josée Gauze and had a brief relationship with her.

Patrick also attended a Mormon church where he met Jocelyne Milluy, a divorced mother with two children. He became involved in their lives and even attended little Karine’s eighth birthday party in July 1993.

Murder Story

In 1971, Patrick Tissier committed his first known murder. He killed and raped his 18-year-old girlfriend in Bourges, France. He was later sentenced to 20 years in prison for this crime.

After serving his sentence, he was released from prison in 1992. In the years that followed, he settled in Perpignan, where he began a new life. He found work and mingled with the local community, including attending church services.

In 1993, he was involved in a series of troubling events. In early September, he attacked a woman named Marie-Josée Gauze. He attempted to strangle her but she survived and filed a complaint against him.

Later that month, on September 13, Tissier kidnapped, raped, and strangled an 8-year-old girl named Karine Volkaert. He disposed of her body in a well near an abandoned farmhouse. Her disappearance led to a police investigation. Tissier, who had been a friend of Karine's family, quickly became the prime suspect.

On September 21, 1993, Tissier was arrested by police. He confessed to the murder of Karine and the earlier attack on Marie-Josée. During his trial, he expressed no remorse for his actions.

He was ultimately sentenced to life in prison with a security period of 30 years for the murder of Karine. Two years after his conviction, he admitted to the murder of Concetta Lena, another victim.
