Murder Story

Parramore Lee Sanborn committed his crime on October 12, 1983, in Henry County, Kentucky. His victim was Barbara Heilman, a mother of three. Sanborn kidnapped her and then proceeded to assault her. He committed acts of rape and sodomy before ultimately murdering her.

Sanborn used a knife to stab Barbara nine times. After the attack, he discarded her body alongside a country road. The shocking nature of this crime drew significant attention.

Authorities arrested Sanborn, and he was taken to trial. On March 8, 1984, he was found guilty of capital murder. The court sentenced him to death on March 16, 1984. However, this decision was later reversed by the Kentucky Supreme Court in June 1988.

Sanborn faced a new trial in 1989. In that retrial, he was once again found guilty. He was convicted of murder, kidnapping, rape, and sodomy and received another death sentence on May 14, 1991.
