Bio

Oleg Naumov was born in 1977 in Russia. He began using drugs at a young age. He became addicted to drugs when he was just 13 years old. Naumov eventually became a soldier in the Russian army. He served on Sakhalin Island, which is located in the far eastern part of Russia. The army during this time was facing many challenges, including issues with discipline and substance abuse. These problems were common among soldiers, and Naumov was part of this environment.

While in the army, Naumov continued to struggle with his drug addiction. He used glue and inhaled acetone fumes while on duty. Despite his drug problems, his commanders were unaware of Naumov's history and struggles.  At the age of 20, Naumov was stationed at a remote military base.

Murder Story

On January 26, 1998, Pvt. Oleg Naumov, a soldier on guard duty in Sakhalin Island, Russia, went on a violent rampage. Under the influence of glue, Naumov attacked fellow soldiers. He first pickaxed one comrade, who managed to escape. He then picked up his army-issued AK-47 rifle.

Naumov shot his commander and six other soldiers. The attack occurred at different locations within the military base, including a guard post, a canteen, and a restroom. In total, seven soldiers died from their injuries.

Authorities were alerted to the situation and began searching for Naumov. He managed to escape with three spare magazines for his rifle. After several hours, police found him hiding in a building on the outskirts of Pobedino. They arrested him without further violence.

Naumov had a history of drug abuse that started when he was 13 years old. He was known to be addicted to inhaling substance fumes. After his arrest, Naumov was taken into custody and hospitalized. He had no recollection of the events that led to the killings. In May 2001, he was sentenced to life in prison for his crimes.
